Grammy Award-winning sextet eighth blackbird will open the Davis Architects Guest Artists Series at Âé¶¹¹û¶³'s School of the Arts Sept. 22.

The group, renowned for the energy, humor and virtuosity it brings to 20th c. chamber music, will present Meanwhile, a selection of music inspired by such diverse sources as Led Zeppelin, Asian court theatre and Spam. Four of the works were composed for the group.

The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in Brock Recital Hall on Âé¶¹¹û¶³'s campus.

Individual concert tickets are available for $20 (adults,) $15 (age 55+,) and $10 (students and children). Series season tickets are $75 (adults,) $60 (age 55+,) and $40 (students and children). Tickets may be purchased by phone at (205) 726-2853 or online at www.samford.edu/arts/tickets.
