Georgian-Colonial Architecture
Â鶹¹û¶³ is renowned for stunning Georgian-Colonial architecture, featuring red-brick buildings, white columns and symmetrical designs that reflect timeless elegance. With the first Georgian-Colonial building dedicated on campus in 1955, Â鶹¹û¶³’s architectural beauty creates a cohesive and inspiring environment for learning and community. This classic design, often cited among the most beautiful college campuses in the nation, showcases Â鶹¹û¶³’s commitment to tradition, craftsmanship and aesthetic excellence.
Focus on Sustainability
Â鶹¹û¶³ is pursuing LEED certification for its new Recreation Complex, highlighting a commitment to sustainability, energy efficiency and environmental stewardship. This effort aligns with Â鶹¹û¶³’s broader sustainability initiatives, including designation as a “Tree Campus Higher Education” by the Arbor Day Foundation and partnering with Homewood on its Green Skies Initiative. In addition, a major component in Â鶹¹û¶³’s $30 million infrastructure modernization project with Johnson Controls includes a new chilled water plant that consumes 40% less energy.
