Âé¶¹¹û¶³ Theatre will offer a student-directed presentation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory as a benefit for the Lovelady Center. Performances are in Harrison Theatre at 6 p.m. on March 7 and 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. on March 8.

Admission is free. Raffle tickets will be sold for $5 for chances to win chocolate baskets.

The Lovelady Center, a women's shelter in the East Lake area of Birmingham, offers substance abuse recovery and treatment, and transitional programs. The Âé¶¹¹û¶³ actors will perform the show for children and women of the center on March 9 and present the money made from the campus performances.

Natalie Saxon, a theatre major from Mableton, Ga., directs the play as her senior project. Based on the delightful children's book by Raold Dahl, the play tells the adventures of a youngster inside a chocolate factory.
