Historian, author and modern Christianity specialist Philip Jenkins will speak at Âé¶¹¹û¶³ several times on March 11 and 12 during a visit sponsored by Âé¶¹¹û¶³'s Beeson Divinity School.

On March 11, he will speak on "Reading the Bible in the Global South" at 11 a.m. and on "The Future of Christianity" at 1:30 p.m. Both lectures will be in Hodges Chapel.

Jenkins will lecture in two Beeson classes on March 12. His topics are "Is Christianity Dead in Europe" at 11 a.m. in Divinity N-101, and "The Lost History of Global Christianity at 12 noon in Divinity S-101.

He is distinguished professor of history and religious studies at Pennsylvania State University. His trilogy on understanding modern Christianity includes the award-winning The Next Christendom: The Coming of Global Christianity, The New Faces of Christianity: Believing the Bible in the Global South, and God's Continent: Christianity, Islam and Europe's Religious Crisis.
