Longtime Â鶹¹û¶³ employee Mark Fuller received a top honor during a faculty/staff convocation Monday, Aug. 18.
Fuller, director of energy and utility management at the school, was named recipient of the 2008 President's Award. He received a plaque and a $1,000 check from Â鶹¹û¶³ president Andrew Westmoreland during a campus-wide employee gathering in Wright Center Concert Hall.
The President's Award recognizes overall performance that exceeds expectations, completion of an especially formidable task, quality work, and efforts that result in measurable improvements.
Fuller, a Â鶹¹û¶³ employee since 1984, was cited for his efforts related to energy management, major campus improvements and landscaping, as well as his jovial nature and service oriented attitude.
Two employees, Catherine Evans and Beverly Hyche, were named Meritorious Service Award winners. Each received a $250 cash prize.
Evans is a technology assistant in the university's Davis Library. Described as a "problem solver" who is always up for a challenge, Evans has worked at Â鶹¹û¶³ for 19 years.
Hyche, secretary for undergraduate faculty in Â鶹¹û¶³'s Ida V. Moffett School of Nursing, was cited for her "courage to care." She has been a university employee for 26 years.
