Trumpeter Dr. Christopher Krummel will present a Guest Artist Recital at Âé¶¹¹û¶³'s Brock Recital Hall Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7:30 p.m. The public is invited free of charge.
Dr. Krummel, professor of trumpet at Youngstown State University's Dana School of Music in Ohio, is principal trumpet of the Youngstown Symphony Orchestra and the Warren Philharmonic Orchestra. An active soloist, he has won international competitions and performed worldwide.
His Âé¶¹¹û¶³ program will feature Georges Enesco's "Legende," Halsey Stevens' "Sonata for trumpet and piano," Vincent Persichetti's "Parable XIV, Op 127 for solo trumpet," Morton Gould's "Pavane from American Symphonette No. 2," Manual de Falla's "Tus ojillos negros," Miguel Sandoval's "Sin tu amor," Verne Reynolds' "Calls and Echoes" with Alabama State University trumpet professor Dr. Carly Johnson, and Marcel Bitsch's "Quatre Variations sur un theme de Domenico Scarlatti."
Âé¶¹¹û¶³ piano professor Dr. Kathryn Fouse will accompany.
Krummel is the first in a series of guest performers presented this fall by the Âé¶¹¹û¶³ School of Performing Arts.
