Amanda Tapley, a sophomore piano performance and pre-medicine major from Birmingham, was crowned Miss Âé¶¹¹û¶³ 2008 Friday night.
Tapley also won the talent award for her piano performance of the 3rd Movement from Tschaikowsky's Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor. Her pageant platform is "Music for a Cure."
A graduate of Briarwood Christian High School, she is the daughter of Patricia and Jeff Tapley. She will represent Âé¶¹¹û¶³ in the Miss Alabama pageant in June.
Finalists were Katie Robertson of Atlanta, Ga., first runner-up; and Susan Hamm of Thorsby, second runner-up.
