Curtis James, president and chief executive officer of St. Vincent's Hospital in Birmingham, will speak at the Âé¶¹¹û¶³ Business Network meeting Wednesday, Aug. 9. The breakfast meeting is scheduled for the Harbert Center in downtown Birmingham at 7-8:30 a.m.

Âé¶¹¹û¶³ Business also will offer a two-hour Continuing Professional Education (CPE) seminar for accountants and their clients immediately following the breakfast. Frank C. Minter, Âé¶¹¹û¶³ Business Executive-in-Residence and a trustee of the Financial Accounting Foundation, and Âé¶¹¹û¶³ accounting professor Dennis W. Price will conduct the seminar on "Key Developments in Financial Accounting and Reporting, and How They Affect Businesses, Jobs and Retirement."

The seminar is $50 payable at the door, but pre-registration is required at the same Web site or telephone number. The seminar is approved for two CPE credit hours.
