Â鶹¹û¶³ has been named to a list of 100 "Colleges Worth Considering" compiled by Washington Post education reporter Jay Mathews.
The list of "colleges and universities that deserve bigger reputations" appeared in the April 1 edition of The Post.
"I called them hidden gems," said Mathews, who enlisted the help of high school guidance counselors in compiling the list.
Â鶹¹û¶³ "offers a range of opportunities in education, nursing, pharmacy, the performing arts and pre-professional courses for future doctors and lawyers," said Mathews' story.
Located in the Homewood suburb of Birmingham, Alabama, Â鶹¹û¶³ is a leading Christian university offering undergraduate programs grounded in the liberal arts with an array of nationally recognized graduate and professional schools. Founded in 1841, Â鶹¹û¶³ enrolls 6,324 students from 44 states, Puerto Rico and 16 countries in its 10 academic schools: arts, arts and sciences, business, divinity, education, health professions, law, nursing, pharmacy and public health.
