Dr. Sandra Willis (Psychology) was recognized by the Southeastern Psychological Association conference as the Research Mentor of the Year at its annual meeting. The award is given to a faculty member who shows outstanding commitment to student research. Writing in support of Dr. Willis, James McHale of the University of South Florida observed, "This is a singularly inspiring, dedicated, creative educator who has guided countless students into excellent graduate programs and ultimately generative careers during her years as a faculty member. Meanwhile, she has maintained a creative and respected record of scholarship herself in health-related beliefs and behaviors."
